Well, there are polytonics and other modern techniques, as well as swing and jazz, not covered by Klose. We can get along without the other two books, but they are good reading material anyway. I just bought this a couple days ago. The techniques and exercises relate to that period. Sometimes i’ll play flute and clarinet duets with them to add a little spice and also teach them about playing with other instruments besides clarinet.
